A Review on Temperature Control of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells

This paper provides a comprehensive review of the temperature control in proton exchange membrane fuel cells. Proton (PEM) cells inevitably emit certain amount heat while generating electricity, and cell can only exert its best performance appropriate range. At same time, generated cannot spontaneously keep uniform stable, is required. part thermal energy be classified into two groups. On one hand, reaction affected by process; on other due to impedance battery itself current, ohmic polarization loss caused battery. The effect current generates Joule heat, which manifested an increase decrease performance. Therefore, it necessary design optimize material structure improve adopt suitable cooling system for dissipation. To make PEM (PEMFC) universal, some extreme situations need considered, cold start included analysis. In this paper, previous studies related three important aspects have been reviewed analyzed better guide management (PEMFC).
